Areas served

This clinic serves patients from Moshi, Bhosari, Chikhali, Nigdi, Ravet, Akurdi, Pradhikaran, Chakan, Alandi, Dehu Road, Talegaon and Spine City, and generally across Pimpri-Chinchwad and the northern catchment. Patients travelling down the Pune-Nashik Highway from Chakan and beyond find it considerably more convenient than travelling into central Pune.

Conditions seen at this clinic

Sports injuries and complex ligament surgery

ACL injuries and reconstruction, meniscus tears and repair, multi-ligament knee injuries, PCL injury, collateral and posterolateral corner injuries, and arthroscopic fixation of bony avulsions.

Injuries following two-wheeler accidents are common in this catchment, and several of them carry a treatment window measured in weeks rather than months. A knee that was grossly unstable after an accident, a knee that will not straighten, or a fresh bony avulsion should be assessed promptly rather than watched.

Shoulder

Rotator cuff tears including massive tears, recurrent dislocation and stabilisation surgery, frozen shoulder, and shoulder arthritis.

Arthritis and joint replacement

Knee arthritis, joint preservation and realignment surgery, knee replacement and robotic-assisted knee replacement.

Not sure which applies to you? Start with knee pain or shoulder pain.

Arthroscopy and fellowship training

Sainath Hospital is where Dr. Prashant Parate continues to develop the arthroscopy department, and where two MUHS fellows currently train in shoulder and knee arthroscopy, surgical planning and postoperative rehabilitation.

What to bring

  • Your scan films and CDs, not only the reports.
  • Any previous X-rays, even old ones.
  • A list of your medicines, and details of diabetes, thyroid, heart or kidney conditions.
  • Insurance policy details if surgery may be needed.
  • If the problem followed an accident, any documentation relating to it, since accident claims are processed differently.

For referring doctors

Colleagues are welcome to call directly to discuss a case. Suspected knee dislocation, a locked knee, an acute rotator cuff tear after a fall, and fresh bony avulsions are seen promptly, since the treatment window in each of those closes within weeks.

Also consulting at Baner

Dr. Prashant Parate also consults at Jupiter Hospital, Baner, Pune, Monday to Saturday from 5.30 pm to 6.30 pm, which may suit patients in west Pune or those who prefer an evening appointment.
