SHOULDER · KNEE · SPORTS INJURY

Straight answers about shoulder and knee surgery, including when you do not need it.

Most patients arrive having been told two opposite things by two different doctors. The guides on this site explain how these decisions are actually made, so that you can understand your own knee or shoulder before anyone operates on it.

How I work

Surgery is one option, not the default. A meniscus that can be repaired should not be trimmed away. A partial rotator cuff tear usually responds to proper rehabilitation. A degenerative knee in someone who is coping well may need nothing at all. You will be told honestly which group you fall into.

The decision is explained, not announced. You will see your own scans, understand what the findings mean, and know what each option would realistically give you before choosing anything.

Joint preservation before joint replacement. Where your own knee or shoulder can be saved, that is the aim, particularly in younger patients.
